Can I eat carbs while losing weight?

“I try to avoid carbs, especially at night time to lose weight”

This is the most common statement that I hear when I speak to people about weight loss.

! It is a big misconception nowadays that carbs slow down the losing weight process !

Your diet should be composed of all 3 macronutrients: carbs, protein and fats.

What is stopping you from losing weight is overeating and not being in a caloric deficit. There is not need to take out any of the macronutrients to lose weight.

Your carbohydrates calories should be around 30% (40% if you train) of your total calories.

Of course your carbs sources should contain nutrients and vitamins. Getting your carbs just from bread and croissants is not optimal for your health and will not keep you satisfied throughout the day.

Carbohydrates are our main source of energy!

So keep in mind to create a healthy balance between your 3 macronutrients based on your lifestyle and activity levels. This in combination with a caloric deficit will give you the desired results!
